How We Started
Started off with informal teashop chitchats, the group came alive with the concept of promoting the miraculous two-wheeled invention, the bicycle. At the beginning it was started off by promoting the use of bicycles for daily commute. As the time passed by the group advanced to advocating and lobbying for bicycle friendly infrastructure in Kathmandu with the concerned government stakeholders. The group comprised of youth concerned on the environment and social issues. The persistent meet up of the group gave birth to ‘Kathmandu Cycle City 2020 Campaign’. The campaign was launched on 21 November 2009 with a huge bicycle rally, which saw more than 500 people on bicycle.
